Anas is ten years old and lives with his family in the Alaadeen Refugee Camp in Homs, Syria. Like any other camp, this camp is overfull, but Anas still manages to go to the UN school within refugee camp. He has two older brothers and one younger brother. His two elder brothers are very musical too. He loves his instrument the Kanun and plays a lot with his older brother Ahmad and Khalid. Ahmad sent also a Musical Postcard. Click here to watch him play the ud.

Martin received Anas his Musical Postcard and made an improvisation on his guitar that evolves from something sad into something hopeful. Martin wishes Anas to never give up hope.

Martin van Hees about Anas

“I hear your music comes from your heart, so this is why I hear you have a good heart."
