Hussain Turaani is 15 years old and lives in Burj el Barajneh Camp in Beirut, Lebanon. He wrote a very gripping and graphic rap that talks about the war in Palestine and the suffering that brings to his people. He uses his own body to express what violence a person is exposed to in times of war.
He is currently taking computer classes and English lessons after school, so we hope to receive a next Musical Postcard from him in English.
Sebastian Gonzalez (13) who is a young student in New York City and part of the Very Young Composers Program initiated by the New York Philharmonic answered Hussains rap with a composition for trumpet and piano and titled it Fanfare.
SEBASTIAN GONZALEZ
“A fanfare is for heroes, for people that have won and are doing great things...”
