Finsterwalde ~ Amsterdam

15 April 2016

Odai is 16 years old and lived in the Al Yarmook camp in Syria, before fleeing the war to Germany. He arrived in the town of Finsterwalde, in the region of Brandenburg and lives there since September 2015. He says he is happy in Germany, but he would be really happy if he could be with his family back in Syria. Rap is for him a way to make music and it enables him to tell people his message and inform them about the things he went through. He is hungry for peace and calls for an end to the violence. Two students, Arlo and Toni from the Waldorf School in Amsterdam, found Odai's rap very inspiring and composed an answer to his call for peace. This musical exchange was brought live to an audience by The Stolz Quartet, on the 15th of April 2016.
